About Our Company
 Dumars, Inc. was founded in 1976 and is today a full service landscape company. The Landscape Department offers landscape design installation and maintenance services for residential and commercial accounts. Dumars' Bulk Materials and Ready-Mix Concrete division supplies the contractor and homeowner alike with topsoil, sand, rock, stepping stones, landscape boulders, transit mix and trailer concrete, and a host of other landscape supplies.
In the spring of 1976, Bruce Dumars and Mark Zane worked out of Dumars' garage, installing new landscapes from Vallejo, to Roseville for Lewis Homes. Later that first year, the pair rented a barn on the north side of Kentucky Avenue. In the three and a half years at the barn, the business grew to employ 25 people.
In the summer of 1980, Dumars Landscaping purchased Lynco Rock and Ready-Mix at 203 East Street, Woodland. The firm constructed a new shop and office building, added equipment to the rock yard, and expanded the line of materials carried.
In 1987 the Woodland Rice Growers Co-op property was purchased at 211-215 East Street enlarging the property to 5 acres. During that fall and winter, the existing buildings were renovated and parking lots built.
Today, the company continues to move forward, focusing their efforts in landscape design, installation and maintenance, and promoting concrete and landscape material sales. The landscape design department uses Auto-cad to generate landscape and irrigation plans and the concrete plant is computer controlled. In 1999 the company incorporated and now works under the name Dumars, Inc.
The company employs 25 - 35 people, varying with the seasons. In addition to Bruce and Mark, several employees are life long Woodland residents. Both owners and each employee are committed to providing good customer service and satisfaction throughout the area. |
